Myriame Sarah Weiner

Myriame Sarah Weiner is a Canadian artist working primarily in cold wax and oil. Raised between the Pacific Northwest and France, she draws inspiration from the intersection of nature, cultural heritage, and the expressive traditions of painting. Her work explores themes of both, her cultural and natural environnement as well as her personal transformation through layered surfaces, luminous colour, and organic forms.

Her approach to painting explores the interaction between material, texture, and gesture. Translucent layers, rhythmic mark-making, and botanical and landscape references create visual narratives that invite contemplation and emotional connection between self and place. Influenced by the natural word, her work balances abstraction and representation, revealing a dialogue between inner experience and external natural environment.

Through her practice, Myriame seeks to create spaces of reflection, encouraging viewers to engage with the evolving relationship between nature, culture, and personal identity.

What You’ll Learn

Elements of Design & Composition

We’ll examine line, shape, value, texture, and balance as tools for creating strong working compositions. You’ll learn how to organize a painting so the viewer’s eye moves intentionally through the image.

Color Mixing

A major focus of the course is understanding color relationships and developing confident mixing skills. We’ll explore warm and cool colors, neutrals, harmony, contrast, and how to create a cohesive palette.

Glazing & Layering for Luminosity

You’ll learn how transparent glazes and layered applications of acrylic can create depth, richness, and light within a painting. These techniques help transform flat color into a luminous surface.

Brushwork Techniques

We’ll practice a range of brush handling methods—from smooth blending to expressive mark-making—so you can develop greater control, versatility, and personal style.
